The government interferes with our freedom to trade among ourselves in multiple ways. There are people who need life-saving kidneys, but it is against the law for them to purchase an extra kidney from a willing seller. There are loving couples who would love to pay a surrogate to carry their baby, but in most states this is illegal. And prostitution, the world's oldest profession, remains illegal, unregulated, and unsafe in most of the nation. Adults should be able to choose for themselves what transactions make sense. Does Big Brother really know better?
